Shooting at Atascocita Birthday PartySunday night, Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call for service at the 15000 block of Bradfield Manor Drive, near Timber Forest. A family was having a birthday party, when a neighbor, later identified as James Thompson (8-26-61), caused a disturbance. Thompson allegedly argued with several attendees, brandished a gun, and shot at everyone standing in the driveway. The homeowner was struck, sustaining a gunshot wound. Several individuals attending the party returned fire, striking Thompson, who also sustained a gunshot. Detectives with the HCSO Violent Offenders Unit responded to the scene. Both the homeowner and Thompson were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Both were listed in fair condition and are expected to survive.Thompson has been charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one count of Tampering with Evidence.
