Public CommunicationsThe day started with 35 Humble ISD elementary and middle school students going head-to-head, rather word-for-word, in the 2025 Humble ISD Spelling Bee on January 18.Words like atrabilious, reconnoiter, and deglaciation were among those that had to be spelt correctly in the intense seven-round event.In the end, Riverwood Middle School’s Ali Khawaja took home the top spot by spelling cloture correctly. This is the second-straight Humble ISD Spelling Bee title for Khawaja. He now moves on to the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee hosted by Houston Community College, which will be held on March 22, 2025.Groves Elementary’s Emma Del Rio finished as the Runner-Up for the 2025 Humble ISD Spelling Bee.The 2025 Spelling Bee Campus Champions included:Atascocita Springs Elementary: Nicki White
