How can these people get away with these heavy boxes. I guess they don't go after them.

What is in her cart? And why don't they check her "receipt" at the door? I'm sure she walked out calmly so as not to call attention to herself. 🤨

@LifesABeach :

It looks like some kind of circular saw.

Many of these places don't allow workers to detain shoplifters, only specially trained "managers" and such....And sometimes they aren't in the vicinity or the theft happens on their days off....

In fact, many places will fire a worker who attempts to detain a shoplifter because it's against the store's policy....Reason is that it's dangerous and could lead to the worker being injured or killed....And if that happens....You guessed it!.....Family members will SUE SUE SUE the company....So, better to be safe and "non-negligent" by having a policy prohibiting such actions by workers....

@EddyFree : And falsely accused could lead to false imprisonment charges or lawsuits as well.

The whole thing is so pathetic. Shoplifters know it, too. Our Home Depot got hit last week. Truth be told, it is probably every day.

@EddyFree :
I took a second job at Lowes in Atascocita about 15 years ago as a assemble person and that was part of the training to work at the store, never try and stop them, they said try to make eye contact with them and try and find the loss prevention person, I don't know if they actually had a loss prevention person, people were walking around in parking lot and finding receipts that they threw on the ground or in trash cans or left in basket and coming in store and getting the same thing and walking out with it, no one ever stopped them, one day a guy got a blue roll cart and loaded 4 John Deere pressure washers on it and went to the cashiers at the west end where wood is and flashed his receipt that he found and they told him to have a nice day, by the time they realized what was going on he had them loaded up in truck and was driving off they chased him on foot but he got away he had a red shop towel over his license plate.

It should be very suspicious when someone has five or six of those saws in their basket. All they have to do is stop them at the door then they'll run away.
