Road Closures Atascocita Rd at FM 1960 August 24 - August 28
 
Atascocita Road at FM 1960
The Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) contractor will continue paving operations on Atascocita Road at
FM 1960. This work requires lane closures on Atascocita Road on the south side of FM 1960 from August 24-30, 2023.
Drivers can expect major delays on Atascocita Road and are strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes.
 
Atascocita Road south of FM 1960 Lane Closures
August 24-30, 2023
 
Beginning at 8 p.m., Thursday, August 24 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 25 and from 5 a.m.. Monday, August 28 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, August 30
- Multiple lanes will be closed on Atascocita Road on the south side of FM 1960.
- Only one lane will be open in each direction.
 
Beginning at 8 p.m., Friday, August 25 to 5 a.m., Monday, August 28
- Total Closure of Atascocita Road on the south side of FM 1960.
- Drivers traveling on Atascocita Road towards FM 1960 will not have access to FM 1960 and will need to seek an alternate route.
- Drivers traveling on FM 1960 east- or westbound will not be permitted to turn onto Atascocita Road and will need to seek an alternate route.
- FM 1960 will remain open.
 
Note: All closures are subject to change due to inclement weather.

Actually, I'm amazed at how quickly they are getting the bridge completed. After the bridge is finished, the widening of the road should go really fast.

They rerouted coming into the big A over the bridge from huffman and closed the turn going south on atascocita shores . Guarantee there's going to be a wreck there , all the old stripes on the road confuse people what is happening with the traffic pattern . It remains two lanes coming in but i believe they use up the shoulder now . People who aren't paying attention are going to rear end the idiot that think he just entered a turn lane and is looking to stop or merge right

I leave for work in the dark. Yesterday I was glad there was a car in front of me as I made the left on to 1960. I knew they has moved West bound on to the new pavement but couldn't see where to go. Fortunately I could follow the car in front. They moved the East bound off the shoulder also. Going to be a lot of this as they begin to finish up the Atascocita end. I heard talk that the bridge could be finished by November…

I was on the inside turn lane on wlhp onto 1960. The lady in front of me tried to go under the bridge. I guess she thought they had moved the lanes already, she jerked over super fast.

@ginx : What I really dislike is when you're coming over the bridge they have a flashing arrow sign in the right lane telling you to get over. It's not really in the lane though, just in the little turn part. It's confusing af.

@mrst yeah they do that further up past walmart too, makes you think the right lane is merging left right as it curves .. driving 1960 will trigger some anxiety driving it now
