Heavy rains from the past week has caused the West Fork of the San Jacinto River at Hwy 69 to crest. The river at this point is currently at 50.74' and the Hwy 69 turnaround is underwater. The Lake Houston gates are still fully open and will continue to be until Lake Houston returns to normal level.
The river is expected to start receding in the next 24 hours and return to its banks. Conditions can change rapidly so please watch the river gauges carefully.
