Humble ISD’s Super Staffers of the Month were recognized at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on May 9. This month’s Super Staffer Awards is sponsored by Whataburger.
Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:
Amanda Villasana — Deerwood Elementary, Special Education Teacher
Those who nominated her said, "In her first year at Deerwood, Ms. Villasana has formed critical relationships with students, staff, and families. She has taken over the entire ICS/Resource caseload while her team teacher has been on maternity leave. Her students will tell you that she is super nice, likes to have fun with kids and helps them to learn new skills every day. She balances it all and always with a smile! Thank you, Ms. Villasana, for supporting ALL of our DWE family!"
Sgt. Major David Watkins — Humble High School, Senior Army Instructor, JROTC
Those who nominated him said, "Sgt. Major Watkins has demonstrated an admirable devotion to Humble High School through his exceptional service and dedication. His unwavering commitment to his responsibilities and willingness to assist others have significantly impacted the school and its students. As a devoted member of the JROTC program, he has volunteered countless hours to help around campus. His students hold him in high esteem, and his passion for teaching and mentoring serves as an inspiration to all. We are fortunate to have someone like Sgt. Major Watkins in our community and appreciate his outstanding contributions to our school."
Angela Heffner — Data Quality, PEIMS Data Analyst
Those who nominated her said, "Angela Heffner has worked in the educational field for 33 years, and joined the Humble ISD family during the 2021-2022 school year as the PEIMS Analyst within the Data Quality department. In a short period of time, she has made a huge difference in our department by being a very detail oriented person that effectively analyzes PEIMS data before submitting to TEA throughout the school year. She exhibits tremendous integrity, cares deeply about her job, and is a kind and patient person who loves to help in every way she can. Angela will be retiring at the end of June and will be deeply missed by everyone that is fortunate enough to interact with her."

Each month, campuses and departments select an individual to be honored as a Super Staffer for their outstanding work in advancing student achievement. A drawing is held and three honorees receive additional recognition at the School Board Meeting, including a gift card, thanks to sponsor Whataburger.
