New Bookstore Opens in Humble!

Loading Image...

The Book Readers Venue is now open at 810 First St E in Humble!

From their website: www.thebookreadersve nue.com/
"The Book Readers Venue is a small book boutique and we believe that when one book closes, another one (or 2 or 3) opens. That’s why we want to be sure that you conveniently find your next favorite book, so the adventure never ends. Our niche is romance and romantic suspense with focus on independently published books. Not into romance? That's ok. We have a small inventory of books representing multiple genres, tshirts and mugs. Looking for something we don't have, let us order it for you."

@AtascocitaDotCom : I wish them good luck. Looks like a nice place to go on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

The only thing I love better than a book store in one next to a restaurant with a waiting line….

Oh boy... who in 2022 think a bookstore is a good idea? Look at BookStop, Borders, Walden Books and the long list of bookstores that went the way of the dodo in the last 10-20 years.

Better market this as books + something else... I know y'all have tshirts and mugs too, but not sure if that will generate enough traffic to keep you afloat.

Here's a link to a very successful place here in Alaska: writersblockak.com/# section-1099
I stop there often, since it's very close to the Harley dealer, get some coffee while reading something... I've never bought a book, but have spent $$$ on coffee and breakfast. They have events that bring a lot of folks to the small venue.

Good luck!

@BarbaraandPatri : I thought you only checked books out of the library.

@sandman: I thought the same thing. They also are focusing on a specific genre. I can't see this working out.

Most bookstores have gone out of business. I wish this site was all the success. But with e- books it just doesn't seem practical
