Mother Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with her Child in the Vehicle
On May 3, 2023, a Lieutenant with Constable Mark Herman's Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the stopped a vehicle in the 7100 block of FM 1960 Road East, The driver was identified as Tiffani Smith, who displayed multiple signs of intoxication.
A series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered and it was determined that she was intoxicated. Further investigation revealed there was a three year old child in the vehicle not properly secured in a safety seat. The child was released to a guardian on scene. Child Protective Services were contacted and advised the facts of this case.
"Tiffani Smith was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated with Child under 15 years of age. Her bond was set at $2,500.00 in the 339th District Court. " - Constable Mark Herman
