Ladies. How Much Do You Pay for a Haircut? I just tried a new stylist. The previous salon was too high maintenance. New stylist charged $40 for a dry cut. She prefers to cut dry hair. So, she cut it, then styled it with curling iron. I kind of like for it to be shampooed just because it is relaxing, but I can live without it. I thought $40 was reasonable. She rents a booth so she is the owner of the business, but I tipped her $5 even though it isn't supposed to be an expectation since she is the owner. I probably won't tip her everytime. Tipped her this time since it is Xmas.
@RajunCajun : I have become "high maintenance in my old age. I was originally chocolate brown, but now I am blonde. I have no idea what is underneath… 🤷♀️… probably a mousey gray. I get a trim and color every month. I pay a lot but won't keep it up forever! $40 is reasonable for a cut, especially if you like it!
@MrsT : I've been going to Great Clips for 19 years. Some stylists have been fantastic, some not so much. But, my hair grows very fast and I have a short cut, so it needs reshaping often. Tuesdays are senior citizens day, so it's very cheap to go there.
@CarolS : Yea some of them make me rethink my choice but I always say well it grows back. I'd be alot more upset if I paid $50 for a haircut and someone screwed it up. They consistently do a bad job on my son's hair.
Luckysis : Where do you go, if you don't mind me asking?
@Daiquiri : She rents her own space in Alex Burton studios just west of the galleria. I've been going to her for a long time and she's never raised my price. Not sure what she would charge now. She's great.
