Just before 1:30am Cleveland Police responded to a reported ten-foot alligator in the road. Sg. Edwards with Cleveland Police responded and called for assistance from a professional handler. Game Wardens were notified but none were in the area due to assisting with flood victims. With the gator possibly causing a possible severe incident going onto the main lanes of the freeway After an hour of moving closer to the main lanes, Edwards attempted to intervene. He attempted to put a noose around it. That is when the gator spun and grabbed his arm and hand. THe gator then attempted to roll with Edwards hand in it's mouth. The gator was immediately dispatched. Edwards was transported to the hospital with severe blood loss. Edwards is currently in surgery at Kingwood Hospital where doctors are repairing his hand and arm.
@Blackhorse77 : Oh no I hope he's ok. He should have waited until a partner could have shown up. Hopefully it's nothing major.
