Question!

If they shoplifted…do they let them get away and then look at camera after? They probably are not allowed to stop them in the store anymore. Emoticon

@West-Tex :
Security can but not employees. I know in our store security isn't allowed to stop them if they did not personally see them steal the items. They walk in grab stuff near the door and walk back out into into a waiting car. They also can't stop them before they leave because technically it hasn't been stolen yet, even if it's concealed.

Even if you are you security, then you have stuff like this happening.

I worked store loss prevention way back when. I was 18-22, 5'2" & 100 lbs soaking wet. I was so non-intimidating looking that the shoplifters would willingly come back into the store and to my office. Every store I worked at prosecuted...dummies for coming back with me. I never had anybody fight me, nor did any of my coworkers. Back then, the shoplifters just wanted the stuff, but would willingly drop it and run away if they could. My job was to prevent loss, so if it was dropped and they ran, I still won. It was also store policy not to chase. Now they don't want to get away, they want to get even. The indoctrination of entitlement has taught them that they're owed. You couldn't pay me enough for that job with today's psycho criminals.
