The Hobbit Cafe - we went there to eat today after going to the natural science museum. It's cool for us geekie Hobbit and LOTR fans. Food was decent - think 3Bs menu with LOTR names for the food. If you're not a Lord of the RIngs or Hobbit fan then skip it. If you are, it's worth at least one trip there.

@mastiffrex : Was it the Hobbit Hole and changed names when I was a teen I ate at the Hobbit Hole many times.

@carol888 : it's not the original but is called the reincarnation of the old Hobbit Hole on Shepherd. It may be the same owner with just a new name and different location. It's like in an old building and house and they advertise that they have been around since 1972. The original Hobbit Hole was vegan and, athough I am a fan of Tolkein, I would definitely have no interest in going to an all vegan restaurant.

Forrest and his brother owned the original Hobbit Hole then years ago the original building was sold out from under them. A couple of years later they opened the Hobbit cafe at the new location. About four years ago Forrest and his wife quit the cafe and opened a place in Tomball the brother still owns the cafe. We love the tabouli sandwich. They have good black bean nachos also.

I was a teen, so we went to hang out and I was definitely a hippie back then!

@Skoolie : we got the black bean nachos at The Hobbit Cafe today - we had them add fajita chicken and they were really good. I think they were better than the nachos I have ordered at most order places if not the best. Not saying they have the best food I have ever had but I am a fan of the black bean nachos!!

@carol888 : Okay it's mainly Millenials and Zoomers there now- may have been a few Gen Xers like myself and my wife, but mainly Millenials and Gen Zers
