Yes, sometimes I think we need to find something we all have in common. Texas and music.

And what’s cooking new in Texas music? How about Houston’s own Carolyn Wonderland, give her a listen and figure who she was influenced by.

I know how to draw you out. Drank some whiskey with Carolyn back in the day...buddy of mine played drums for her for a while.

@Fairlane57 you made me pull the stops out….. kick back close your eyes and just listen for what it is. Real Texas Blues music at it’s origin. Imagine almost 80 years or more old and if you just listen ….a true influence on Texas music today
.And of course
Lightning Hopkins

His name Alger "Texas" Alexander (September 12, 1900 – April 18, 1954)[1] was an American blues singer from Jewett Texas. House of the Rising Sun, later done by Roy Acuff

Alger "Texas" Alexander

@Astrokatz :

I never have listened to him...outstanding guitar work in this. Man I love old blues. What makes it all better, these guys were recorded by a record company guy, who would travel the south looking to record guys right on their front porches or jail (in some cases like Leadbelly).

@lana7018
Of course a great Bob Wills tune...This version by Strait is especially good with triple fiddles and the late great Johnny Gimble.
