Selena was only 23 year old at the time and her death at such a young age and at a time when she was just beginning to crossover into musical forms other than Tejano created one of the greatest "what might have beens" in the history of music. Who knows what she would have done?
@Fairlane67 I agree with you about Selena. Such a beautiful, talented young lady. I am in awe of her and her music. She will always be in our hearts. I love this thread...it is good to pay tribute to the many gifted artists of our times and to re- introduce them to the next generation.

During his brief career, he wrote 44 original ragtime pieces, one ragtime ballet, and two operas. One of his first pieces, the "Maple Leaf Rag", became ragtime's first and most influential hit.
