Think the redistricting shenanigans played a role too.

Texas is net 1 lost seat for Republicans. They redistricted to net gain 5.

I must say I'm shocked. I think they just took everything overboard and it brought out people who wouldn't normally feel affected. Not just the nationwide stuff but here the weed, vouchers, abortions, massive gerrymandering, it was a lot to force on people.
