Hubs is leaving for Africa in a few weeks...was concerned about this ....he went to a travel Doc to get shots, antibiotics but this was not mentioned. I guess not a shot for it?

Unfortunately this disease is only a plane ride away to the U.S. as we are an open society. Although there is some thought of rudimentary screening at international airports, that wouldn't be effective unless medical personnel were stationed there on a 24 hour basis. Of course there are illegal aliens to further muddy the waters. I don't think there is the political will to do what needs to be done. So what can we do? Probably not a damn thing.

Its on my calendar, based on a 21 day incubation period, the first cases in the US will be around Aug 15, that is starting from Monday this week.

They did confirm on the news this evening that it is the 2 Americans they are bringing back here.
