For some reason, the coyotes and bobcats don't scare me. The hogs and nutria rats are a completely different story.

My neighbor here on Magnolia Bend Dr. told me he did see a bobcat cross the street one evening and he had seen a coyote running down the street before. This was all before they cut down the woods along Atascocita Shores near 1960. Don't really know where animals like that would be hanging, but there's plenty of strays and loose animals around for feed. These "cougars" weren't wearing hoodies and driving around in an older-model Chevy Suburban, were they?

@PostShooter There are wooded areas all around. Even if they seem small, they are habitats nonetheless. The coyote I saw was at the end of PHT and I know it ate a dog out of a front yard on that street. I have also noticed there haven't been any rabbits in that area in a while.

My child has a trailcam and puts it out in the backyard to see the wildlife at night. So far, we've seen numerous cats that repeatedly spray my new barbecue pit cover, numerous possums and raccoons, and one skunk. No cougars yet, but we put the camera in the front yard tonight. I don't think we'll be seeing any on there tomorrow, but it's good to be an excited kid. Lol.

@BusyMommy I have also wondered where all the rabbits are . We use to see them all, the time at the end of Pinehurst Trails & on the point also . Have not seen the deer either out by the point .

@macdaddy
They're referring to the four legged animal not the two legged cougar you mean

I was wondering about the lack of rabbits as well. I always liked to count them when I was out on my walks. You could walk really close to them and they wouldn't even run away. Hate to think about coyotes and such living in the hood!!!

If you are not seeing them, that is a good indication of a predator feeding on them, or some disease keeping them in check. I have seen a coyote recently on Pinehurst Trail, so that would be my guess.
