As referenced earlier, i think these relied on the viewers imagination as much as special effects,
Jaws, aliens, holloween, exorcist. IT 1 had its moments, one thing is constant for all of them though, the book smoked the movie.

Dead Alive. It's more comedy than anything, but there's a lot of blood and gore. It was directed by Peter Jackson before Lord of the Rings.

@nikkiole : Wasn't Pennywise terrifying? I haven't seen the 2nd one yet (when the kids are all grown).

: Stephen King books can never be surpassed by the movies! IMO

@nikkiole : I have read all 'em!! Only movie that comes close for me is Misery. They couldn't have cast Annie Wilkes any better! *shutter*

@nikkiole : Left Behind by Tim LaHaye? Yes. (Fun fact...he used to be a client of mine!)

My mom is quite possibly the sweetest, kindest, most quiet/polite/demure person you'd ever meet (I know..I obviously threw her for a loop 😂). Like the quintessential soccer mom. But she was a HUGE King fan for as long as I remember. She had every single book in hardback (still does). Every time we would get sick when we were young and have to stay home from school, she would always bring us a bowl of soup and toss a Stephen King book at us. Emoticon

Sometimes, when I look in the mirror, I scare myself.
