@Clydepuckett
Good grief.......uh yeah, the global oil markets are just like the local self inflicted political screw ups in Detroit. And auto manufacturing didn't migrate overseas.....Parts manufacturing did......not assembly. Toyota and Nissan now build autos here for distribution in America. Chevys and Fords aren't assembled in China and Japan. Capital goes where it feels most welcome......Detroit fell victim to its own suburbs......

Wasn't about the X's and O's behind two different industries suffering job loss...More along the lines of having respect for the misfortune of other Americans as your area could experiance a similar situation one day...

On another matter, futures prices show a gallon of milk is double the price of a gallon of crude oil. Why is that?

- Oil isn't as "tasty" as milk?
- Oil isn't as healthy as milk?
- Milk is whiter than oil, therefore worth more?
- An "oil-mustache" isn't as appealing as a milk one?
- Cows are demanding free-udder time these days?
- The phrase "Got Oil" just doesn't have the same effect?
- The phrase "Oil...It does the body good.." wouldn't work?
- A bowl of Cherrios floating in crude isn't as appetizing?

Thanks everyone for thinking about my family at this time!

Unfortunately, my husband did not get the job....so the search continues. They did at least have the decency to call him personally, and tell him that they filled the position with an internal candidate. Obviously, we had hoped that this would have ended differently. We are choosing to have positive attitudes, and he is working his tail off to find something in his field.

We have been thru this before, but not when we had kiddos. Luckily they are too young to be told what is going on, so that helps us to maintain a happy front. He and I are enjoying our time together, but he is ready to be inside an office again...

Some funny stuff there dude...always with the humor....luv it. But, all those existed when oil was 7x the price of milk.

As to Detroit, the citizens had a choice of electing officials who could be fiscally responsible or devoting confiscatory taxes to entitlements(as opposed to improvements)......they chose poorly. ....and thus Are deserving of limited sympathy. Those in O&G locally had no vote on OPEC policy makers. That was my only point.....

@smokeybear

The cows have better marketing.....seen a ChikFila commercial? Or billboard? Funny how they use dairy cattle in those commercials. Lol
