@+1 : I've never been in the position where I had to send my son if I felt it wasn't good for him so I would say right now, I'd have him homeschooling but that option isn't for everyone. I can work from home and could take him anywhere I go but most can't. Thankful he's out of all that now.

A lot of kids I talked to enjoyed the online schooling. In fact they even did better than in the classroom. I bet these students opt. To e-learn next year.

@Smokeybear : Lower bar, mom can answer the questions for me, and I only do school one hour a day instead of seven. Of course they like the online format better. They're children and given the choice would opt out of any schooling whatsoever... 🤦‍♂️

While we're entertaining silliness though, consider this. In an online format I would imagine the demand for the current quantity of teachers goes down.

I'd like to see all High-Schools go to online classes only....Those kids are old enough to stay home by themselves if needs be...Imagine the serious Property TAX savings with no more High School infrastructure(aging buildings, maintaining buses and their fuel needs, lunches, and non-teacher payroll) to fund....Obviously you can't do that for kids too young to be "home alone", but we can for High School with the "communication technology" we have today....

@EddyFree : Now if only we can keep the malcontents from shooting each other in their increased free time. My guess is we have even more Tuesday morning, suspended license driving, amateur rap artists hanging out at the park "NOT LOOKING SUSPICIOUS" while they wait for a cop to shoot their mouth off at.

...And no frackin' way public education says "you know what, we're running a leaner operation now, here's your extra property tax money back that we now don't need"

You have a dim view of our High School students....I guarantee the vast majority are upstanding young adults...

It wouldn't be their choice....Last I checked, "public education" was an "expense"...
