@ParksideRes : Funny … those "skinny wings" were actual quail legs as stated. They were actual size of the bird; the wings are 1/3 that size. They are a very small bird. Have a nice day.

@bbk : If you are commenting on any of my pictures of Bbq meat being burnt or charred you are incorrect It would never make it to my table. I choose to smoke meat indirectly not over direct flame. You may be thinking the "bark" as representing char / burnt meat, it is not. That is seasoning combined with the rendering of the meat and under that is the smoke ring caused by the flavor wood being used both are cherished by cookers to be the goal you are looking for. The only thing that would be close to looking charred / burnt looking intentionally that I would cook is called "burnt ends". Burnt ends is a fatty part of pork belly or from the point of a brisket cut into small squares with part of the seasoning being brown sugar. The sugar would give the "burnt" look and helps give that shell coating to a marshmallow like meat inside. These are expensive at Bbq restaurant and coveted by those that like them. But all in all, I can see the misconception of burnt looking versus bark. Have a nice day.

I'm no good for complicated or visual. but I sure enjoy what I cook. I suppose with astokatz refusing to play the field should be more competitive. unfortunately, I'm not much for competition either, but I hope to see some friendly neighbor competition.

@Astrokatz : I have no idea who's food was up on here now . It could have just been a picture that someone took off of the computer that a complete stranger to all of us did ? So no I was not targeting you as the person serving cancer causing food . I wasn't targeting anyone . The thought of a picture I saw on here reminded me of what MDA said . It's important that people know this & then have the chance to make the decision as to what they will put in their mouth .
 
I was tested & tested positive for a likely pathogenic mutation in the M ITF gene which means my risk of developing melanoma is significantly greater than that of the average US woman . My chance is also greater for kidney cancer which is also increased by this mutation . So our kids had a 50 / 50 chance of getting this gene ..Both were tested & both have this gene , grandson has it & granddaughter hasn't been tested . If 1 of my kids didn't have this gene it would mean their kids would not have the gene unless it was inhereted from their father . This gene does not skip a generation . At any rate I'm very aware my chances are higher than the average person for cancer .
