@FNULNU1954 : Those look like they're made out of aluminum foil, so they might actually serve several purposes. They make the bike look next-level cool, of course there's the safety aspect of not hitting anything else next to you, they maintain balance while drunk biking, and the foil repels the alien mind reading signals.

I can never get my head around these, back home all that can protrude is the "bulge" of the tyre, no wheel or tread can be beyond the rim of the wheel arch, and that makes sense to me from a safety standpoint. I think the same goes for Jeeps with no doors, it's like they give up on safety when it comes to cars being legal here.

It's highly unlikely the money it costs to buy these ridiculous no-class and ugly wheel accessories was earned legally. When you have to work hard to earn a living, you don't throw it away on something just so you can try and look cool.
