Another friend of mine tested positive for Covid

She is a mom of 3 and a new grandma - (50's). She started feeling bad a week and a 1/2 ago, was tested late last week & got her results back this week.

So far that's 2 of my friends that have tested positive and I have one friend who parent tested positive.

Do you know people with it yet? Has it hit close to home for you?

1. my DW's nephew; was in a ventilator like 10-11 days

2. a co-worker, his daughter and wife; he had a friend in Utah that died. he said his daughter had a mild fever during Spring Break, then the following week he got sick and didn't return to the office, had a high fever for 4 days; his wife started showing symptoms a week later, had symptoms for 10 days and tested positive. so since they've been hunkered down since mid March, and the wife is positive, that means they all had it.

Not here, but in PA where I grew up, at least 6 of my classmates have lost parents due to Covid. Here, I don't know anyone personally that has it.

@+1 : A close friend of mine lost both grandparents in less than a week. They were residents of a care facility in Lubbock. The facility new people were getting sick but didn't take extra precautions. 🙁 When being interviewed now they say they did it all correctly but in the early phase, there were a couple of employees who went on record saying they were told to just go to work and not discuss it.

I got sick on February 24. I know the date because I took my son to the dr the next day for pink eye(which I've read is a symptom). It started out that first night as a mild fever and body aches. The next morning I woke up with the headache from hell, it lasted all day. Fever and throwing up. I figured I'd go to the dr and be tested for the flu, it would come back negative like the last two years I felt this way and they'd say well we'll just assume it's the flu anyway. But that always lasted just a few days. I get the flu shot and it's supposed to make the flu mild if you do get it. But I had this fever for over a week. Sometimes it was 103 and I don't normally get higher fevers. The second week was mostly a sore throat and dry cough. I slept sitting up on the couch because I would wake up in bed and have a hard time breathing. I finally went to the dr on the 9th and she said it had turned into an ear infection and was probably caused by the flu. It lasted a few days after that then went away. I've never been sick for 2 1/2 weeks with anything.
I'd love to take that antibody test and find out just to know.

@+1 : Yes, my dear old friend's daughter who lives in England and my oldest friend's son & his boyfriend and her bro and sis inlaw. All TG are recovering at this point. I feel like I had it starting 3/16-around 4/4. I had symptoms but none at same time and not a high enough fever, and my Dr. didn't feel I needed to be tested at that time sice they were short on tests and I had what he thinks was a mild case.

@+1 : I don't have anyone that has had the virus. Hopefully, I won't. I have a friend that has cancer and it has moved to his lungs. So sad.

@ladybeachbum : Earlier today she told me she was scared. She is afraid she will have to go on a ventilator. She is not in bad health at all. She is still at home. Her daughter talked to my daughter on zoom this evening and she's having a hard time. She is 13, confined to her room and thinks her mom might go to the hospital.

I really don't expect my friend to go south. I think she will do well. However I do feel like it will sweep though their home and I worry about them all.

I really appreciate that you are praying for her with me.
