dumbsquam : I mean it isn't the same vaccine from year to year and they have to basically guess which strain is going to be most prevalent in a given year and manufacture vaccine accordingly, they don't always get the right one. I personally never get the vaccine, I don't get the flu frequently enough for it to concern me even though I am asthmatic.

GBinHOU : Hopefully noone ever gets the flu frequently. Most try to never get it which is the point of the vaxx. If you are saying that you've never really had a good one. I've had the London Flu, Hong Kong Flu, Swine Flu, I want none of it.

chasinghosts : Many susceptible people get the flu at least once every flu season without the vaccine or even with the vaccine if it's not the right one for that seasons strain. Incidentally the seasonal flu vaccine is unlikely to prevent the severe and especially virulent named strains you mention and that is when treatments such as Tamiflu come in.
