I was confined to crutches, wheelchair for a year recently. I could have easily gotten a placard and made life a lot easier for myself and my wife. However I feel that mine was just a temporary thing and that there where others who could use the spot better than myself. I will say that there is a limit as to how far out one of those scooters will let you go at Kroger's before they alarm and shut down on you. Was about 100 feet from the car for me. hahaha. This is a big pet peeve of mine as well. Another way I guess you could stop them from doing it is just park behind them and go in or park literally right beside them. Also leave them some love notes.

this is a huge pet peeve of mine as well. I've had several surgeries and at one point considering getting a placard but decided that many need it more than me so decided against it. I'm not saying everyone but many of us could use the extra walking due to weight gain so park further out and walk folks!!! It'll do you good, does me!!!

Not all handicaps are are visible. Also I've seen at least 3 instances in past couple weeks someone yelling at a person parked in the handicap spot without a placard. In each instance they had a Disabled Veteran plate but yeller was having none of that.

Handicap placards and disabled veteran plates are given for more than ambulatory disabilities.

Technically the space is for any qualified individual, they are within the law.

If you park behind somebody and block them in aren't you illegally parked as well? Makes you as bad as them.

Myself I park far away because I need the exercise.
