I saw some pics with all the awesome buildings and hotels in Dubai, it's beautiful. About the same time I rec'd an email from a headhunter needing to fill a position with my qualifications there. I did some research, Dubai has a ton of rules and stringent laws, a ton, looks like they'd throw me in jail before I made it through the airport and into a taxi. I passed.

@cador : I lived in Saudi Arabia for 2 years. People would go from there to Dubai for vacation. When I came back to the states, I had to condition myself to hearing the news again. You rarely hear of murders, rapes or burglaries there as they deal with them quickly and harshly. But I have no desire to return there!!

That's great, and I applaud them for that. But I heard you say the wrong cuss word, have relations with the wrong person, or wrong place, or even wrong time and you can find yourself in jail. A few more that I can't remember (oh yea, get caught with the wrong prescription medicine), too many rules that most of them I'm ok on, but a few I may be in a grey area over there or two.

Right, only PMs I get are from Joe at ADC, and although I'm always glad to hear from him, he's not just saying hello as there's usually some sort of warning in there that I misbehaved . But he's always nice and I always deserve it.

@FrodoBaggins : It was early 80s. They paid my hubbie 50 bucks an hour which was a lot back then. Plus 10K travel expenses per year and per diem. But women could not drive or work unless it was in nursing or teaching. Had to stay fully clothed on the beaches. But all the restrictions made it a very social place because there is not much else to do. No movie theaters. TV didn't come on till about 3 and then it was all kid stuff. TV and radio was very censored.
