@brightlights : My only issue with this is that he basically said he would own the shutdown. So I'm like okay own up to it as opposed to now saying this whole thing is on the Democrats. But again in the meanwhile real people are out here hurting. In my view the wall proposal can be worked out in the ordinary political process without holding government workers and their families hostage for this extended period of time. It's just wrong.

@sandman : I refer to him that way because for me "President" and Trump doesn't belong in the same breath. It's not about hate which is a strong emotion. There are very, very few people I've hated in my time. But back to the issue at hand, in my opinion his undignified behavior in office has lowered the respect level of him and the presidency itself. Having said that I haven't called him out of his name on here. And I haven't tried to make childish variations of his name.However he is in fact the 45th president so I simply choose to refer to him as that most of the time.

But one would have to expect that Congress would do its job, and work this out with the "President", given Pelosi and Schumers recent historical positions on a border wall, barrier, whatever. Their excuses for not funding this, do not hold water (pun intended). They are playing the worst kind of politics....soooo, Trump will play as well...and win.

@Fairlane67 : As you may know, the House has passed funding bills matching the ones previously passed by the Senate. So really both chambers have done their part. Now the problem primarily lies with 45 and Mitch McConnell.
