So mine really looks like Pappadeaux? Yay, me!
It's really kind of like making gumbo...same holy trinity, same roux, except made with butter instead of oil, and the roux is much lighter in color.

We did unstuffed cabbage - ground pork, onion, garlic, tomato, cabbage, red pepper flakes, Worcestershire with brown rice, served with a dollop of sour cream. I wanted something in bowls that we could eat while watching the debate.
