Clip in hair extensions in fun colors....clip them in for the day, take them out at the end of the day. Fun on the weekends, no commitment, and you won't get in trouble at school. I also have some hair chalk in fun colors. It washes right out.

I love fun colored hair, and in high school and college I played around with different colors. My hair has been everything from blonde - black - blue - red - purple. I'm lucky that I'm not bald after all of that.

@littlegoo, you and me both! I have been lots of shades of manic panic in high school and professionally colored in various shades of black-purple, all the way to platinum blond in college. Now I'm totally natural but I'm considering bringing it back to some extent...

I liked it, and it's great that it said it made her come out of her shell some. Mom checked with the school first, the girl likes it and it had a positive impact on her. She isn't going to a job interview any time soon, and it can be washed out. I don't see a problem with it myself.

One time in college, I dyed my hair with kool aid. This was before there was pinterest and other such sites. I heard from another kid that yeah....you can dye your hair with kool aid! Of course, it should have been the unsweetened kind (which, nobody told me), I did it, then played softball that night and the scent and sugar was all over my face, but my hair did have a nice dark reddish cherry hue!

I love the trend of older women with white hair using bright colors. Why not you naturally have the perfect base for beautiful colors without bleaching!

You know how if you make Kool-Aid, it will stain your counter if you drip some, well.....it does the same to your hair!

How can any of you defend this? That child looks like a freak. I feel sure that everywhere she and her Mom (with the tatted up arm) go, they get stared at. The attention is what the Mother wants, not what the child needs.

@West-Tex, this was very popular in the 90's. Gave the hair a water colored effect. I never did it, but knew many that did. It really worked!

If it's temporary color, wouldn't it wash out as soon as she washes her hair? I don't see the big deal then. She probably just went outside and played that day.,

Coloring lasts several weeks! Better, at the expense we pay! Saying all that one of my sons decided that Kool-Aid would be fun and picked a unsweented package out of my pantry and did his hair this was in 6th grade.....oh kids are so much fun!
