@Sammee

Orcas can be found just about anywhere in the world,(they will go where there is food) but there are different eco-types/sub-species. Here is an article, it's quite interesting.

Is it just me or does Type D Orcas need to go on a diet?

Yeah, the type D's are definitely different looking, and very rarely seen. Google them, there have been sightings, but they're elusive and rarely studied.

The type A's are the ones that we are most accustomed to seeing- as those are the resident orcas- of which SeaWorld and other aquariums have, as they are the ones that hang out in the Pacific Northwest. SW and others also have had a few Type B's (or Bigg's transients - the mammal eaters). There have never been type C's or D's held in captivity. They should also include another type called the hybrid orca, as SW has bred crosses of type A's and B's - which would never ever occur outside of a controlled environment. Type A's and B's will often cross paths, but they do not interact with each other, and they don't fight either. They probably just say "hey" in orca language and just keep swimming.

Type D orca - Some scientists believe they are actually a whole different species.
