@Matthew87
I've been thru some basic firearms training a long time ago... NRA-type classes that go over firearms safety, shooting fundamentals, etc.
A few years back I went to some training focused on handguns, like defensive handgun, low-light situations, shooting on the move, personal protection inside the home, weak hand shooting, etc.
In 2013 I bought my first MSR and did some carbine classes (basic, advanced), combined carbine/handgun training.
The basic classes I have taken are usually NRA instructors/ex-Law Enforcement. I've trained in small groups with other personnel (not regular LEOs or NRA instructors).
Although I have been a gun owner for more than 25 years and I learnt to shoot during my teens, I was one of those gun owners that saw no use for an AR-15 until Obama and Feinstein tried to take them away after the Sandy Hook shooting. I now build my own as a hobby.
