I would like to thank all my fellow board members, all committee volunteers and especially the captains and their committees for the long hours and hard work. It would be impossible to have a record breaking event as we did this year …. Yes, record breaking TGCBCA Sanctioned BBQ cook-off. The 2016 Humble Rodeo and BBQ event has moved from # 5 to #4 in Texas for the biggest and most sought after BBQ for the best of the best cookers. Last year we had 108 and this year 149 teams Along with the introduction of the SCA Sanctioned Humble Texas Championship Steak Cook off”s ranking as #2 in their history, Humble has become one of Texas major cooks for the best of the best cook teams. This weekend we had more Grand Champions from other events then ever competing against each other. Also let’s never forget that we have some of those best in our own backyard. Atascocita’s own White Water Cowboy team took 7th place out of 149…way to go. In Showmanship for open tents and closed party tents 3 of 6 places were taken by local Humble teams. Everyone sent accolades to all for their help, you all were huge in making this possible. Humble Education Foundation thanks you and I thank you. Never lose site that we do this for the Kids of Humble ISD. Rodeo next weekend.

@HumbleGirl :Aw, man! Now I'm REALLY sorry we didn't make it! Really proud of all of you guys/gals who worked so hard to pull this off. I know it wasn't easy! Awesome collective effort for your grateful community! We'll be stopping by next weekend, fo' sho'!

Saturday's volunteering was fun, a little bit of a disarray but in the end it was all good. I was able to meet catmae and astrokatz for the first. Catmae is a little bundle of beautiful... Met a lot of great volunteers and hope to be involved next year as well.

Yes they do!...If you know someone, you should suggest it....She has several 1st place trophies sitting in my office as well.

@Fairlane67 Hey I just noticed, # 70 & 72 were Throwdown cookers.......Ya'll dusted them.....they have over 250 competition champs between the two of them. So yeah, you guys are exceptionally good.So, maybe next year you guys are the local entry in the 2nd annual Rumble in Humble.......presentation and personality are judged though.......so.......I'll work on beans.
