The disturbing thing with this is why did NCIS go to her house? Seems like they should have brought her to a protected area to interview her. I know hindsight is 20 20. But it seems like there should be policies to protect both Leo's and victims of domestic abuse by not having an interview take place in the home. Seems she should have been escorted to an undisclosed location .

@Carol888 : Yes. She AND the children should have been escorted to a safe, undisclosed location for the interview. Why would she have to leave the children to be interviewed? Clearly, a complaint of abuse had been filed. So the follow-up should have been in a safe and undisclosed location with the woman & her children.

Reporting dv doesn't work out how most people think it does. Restraining orders are hard to get and don't stop someone from killing you.

@MrsT : I've read that restraining orders are still recommended by LEOs. It gives them the ability to arrest the person immediately if they are near the victim.

@RajunCajun : They might be alright if the person is just annoying. But like my ex said, it will take awhile for the cops to get there.
Say they actually arrest them, they get out even more **** off. My coworker was attacked with a knife by her ex, he was in jail for 3 months. It's a whole lot of he said, she said and unless you can get an emergency one you have to make an appointment, go downtown, prove yourself to a case worker.
Bottom line, if you get caught up with someone like that you're screwed. If they don't kill you they make your life hell.

@MrsT : My girlfriend up in Chicago just went through her husband tried to strangle her. She had hand prints and the cops caught him trying to pour gas around the house. She was so lucky she go away before he could kill her or her daughter with Down Syndrome. After several attacks by him he is finally going away for 30 years. He'll get out in his 80's. I can't imagine living in fear of someone for years and having to go through anything like this. It's so heartbreaking for the kids.
