I would suspect crime would be part of his definition but would include other factors as well. This was on his morning talk show. Atascocita was not the only one mentioned.

I still like living here but it has definitely declined with all the growth. Just hoping it stays livable until it's time for me to go to a senior community.

He should say why he thinks so. I don't feel unsafe here but then I don't go out late at night any place. My son and I go out to pick up food late often and never see anything.

Every area has their share of crime. I wouldn't know where to move for complete safety. So far, here in Walden I haven't had any problems. We've been here 20 years. With population growth you're gonna get urbanization. Even the ritzy neighborhoods have criminals preying upon them.

I use to see Atascocita on list of best places to retire, I feel like its just another place to live now. Nothing special.

It's incredible how much this area has changed just over the last 20 years. I can't say I disagree with him.

I again say, I have been here since the first homes on Pinehurst Trail and then in maybe 6 years we moved to the bigger home. I'm glad I am not on the main road but not because theft but main street. My beach homes are on a piece of land that everyone wants to fish there so it comes with problems. I keep saying I am moving there and sell here but it would not be because I feel not secure here.
I would like to know where the problems are but every place has bad people wanting what you have.

When people "flee" or flight........it creates a gap and rentals move in. Many people have no choice but to rent these days. Home ownership isn't as easy as it once was. So I don't look down on the renters. I feel safe here still. People who think they can avoid crime by moving somewhere else are fooling themselves. Crime is in every neighborhood. My friend in the nicest neighborhood in KW had her garage robbed. I haven't. Yet...lol...

When areas are nice, the criminals know it, too. Also, he should count in the fact that most violent crimes aren't high, there.

While I have seen weird stuff over the 50 years of living on this street in The Oaks of Atascocita, it hasn't gotten worse. I hope it stays that way because I don't plan on moving from here. I had often thought of moving to a more remote area but I love the convenience of having everything so close. The airport, the stores, the hospitals, etc.

Just look at the schools and all the problems that they are now encountering. This comes with communities changing where there are perhaps 20-30 percent being rentals.
