Surely the taxpayers would have to vote to approve funding that.....

Sad thing is, most of the apartment dwellers and renters will vote "yes" because they have no real stake in the area....Their rent goes up because of extra taxes, they simply pack up and move to another county, leaving home/property owners holding the financial bag....

If Texans can pay one player, Derek Stingley Jr, $30 million dollars a year, they can pay for their own facilities.

@EddyFree : other people come and rent the apartment.

The owners of the apartment complex have to pay for it anyways regardless of occupancy.

@EddyFree : I think there should be reform on rental properties. If there are single family occupants willing to buy the home, then someone trying to rent the property out after buying it should be the last option.

@EddyFree : Besides, the tax used for sports facilities is Hotel occupancy and vehicle rentals. We aren't paying those

@ParksideRes :

Of course they do.....You may be missing the point....The renters get a vote and don't have to stick around for years paying for it all.....

Need to change the voting criteria to where only the "property owner",as listed on the property deed, the entity the tax bill gets sent to, has a "vote" on anything politicians put forth requiring raising property taxes...And I'll go further by saying that if a property owner owns more than one property they should have a vote for each property they pay taxes on....

@ParksideRes :

If that's the case, fine....As long as it isn't on the backs of Home/Property owners....But my gripe still stands on all the other "propositions" and such that end up raising taxes on these folks, pretty much outside their control since renters and others get a "vote" too.....

@EddyFree : Neither do you. Sell your house and take your equity.

@EddyFree : Owner/occupants should have priority over investors seeking rental properties.
