So sad 😭 these seniors are almost adults and the school system has been advancing them to the next grade each year. How will these unprepared people even participate in their future, when realistically their level of learning is nonexistent

It's in part because kids have so many readily available ways other than reading for entertaining themselves these days. When I was growing my parents restricted us from watching TV - besides playing outdoors I found myself going to our public library and checking out books to read like the series about the boys who were amature sleths (Hardy Boys?). I never was much good myself at writing, but I did well enough to get thru college with C's for the couple of literature/writing classes I had to pass.
