USS Abraham Lincoln Interesting article, 250 days at sea and counting. Rising mental issues and jumping from ship. It's fairly well known that jumping from ship will get you a free pass home, it is also well known that the survival rate isn't that good, even if you jump with people watching Sucks for all of our military caught up in the current nonsense USS Abraham Lincoln sailors tried to jump overboard amid extended deployment - reports | US military | The Guardian share.google/JWzsApI pUBrfwm3qy

@Wanderer :
Lol, swim call, jumping from the elevators. Those are rare opportunities. I made 4 deployments and all commanding officers declined the risk In all seriousness though mental health is a real issue for you men on long deployments, we always had guys jump off hoping for a pass to go home, usually doing it when they knew there were witnesses to maximize the chance of rescue. We recovered most of them

redneckroy : You mean suicidal jumps? #msg2197391
9 months at sea with no break? There used to be limits to how long they could be on the ship without a chance to touch land. I'm hearing this ship has surpassed the normal limit.
The cruelty of this administration knows no limits. And the leadership under Hegseth is so bad that veteran commanders have been quitting. DJT would be wise to get rid of him, but wisdom is not his forte, is it?Gray boxed for being political and/or controversial in a General Chat discussion.

This is really despicable and needs to be considered a national scandal. We have a president and SOD that either don't give a damn about the situation, or they're too incompetent to realize the gravity of it. Instead, the SOD is too busy ensuring women and people of color don't receive deserved promotions. As this disaster is unfolding before our very eyes. Just disgusting.Gray boxed for being political and/or controversial in a General Chat discussion.

@redneckroy : Thank you for your service! This ship has set a naval record for most continuous days at sea with only 2 short port calls in 9 months, don't think they were allowed off the ship at one of those.
It can't help that they are getting mind games with the back and forth........you're going home, you're not going home......I'm sure they must feel like they can't trust anything anymore. Not to mention the lack of basic necessities and food. Low morale with a massive war budget seems wrong.
Family member are meeting with Congressional members. And anyone reading this with concerns can call their senators, who are on break right now but Houston offices should be taking messages. Dire conditions reported aboard USS Abraham Lincoln as sailors try to jump overboard after longest deployment-ever at sea share.google/XiRSvNr trOjanGRTM
Those working below decks could go days without seeing the sky.
Sure seems like today , lots of things could be done to improve moral. Such as food, communications, and entertainment.

They are "dire conditions" when the Trump is in office so folks can point fingers at him....But, as RR said, it's not something "new".....Isn't it interesting that we never heard of this during Biden's or Obama's terms?....Geee, wonder why?.... Y'all being played....Gray boxed for being political and/or controversial in a General Chat discussion.
