It seems people don't know what the letters ICE even stand for. Immigration Customs Enforcement. What is their job? Enforces federal laws governing border control, customs, trade, and immigration. They weren't thugs when Biden was in power and weren't they enforcing federal laws? Or did Biden tell them NOT to enforce federal laws? You're being disingenuous here. Quick history lesson. U.S. Customs, Border Patrol, and Immigration and Naturalization Services, used to be stand alone agencies. With the creation of Homeland Security (HS), they were combined under one department umbrella. That decision led to the creation of Customs and Border Protection, under which Border Patrol falls, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement, to include Homeland Security Investigations (Special Agents), and Detention and Removal Operations.The current administration has used these agencies in ways they were not designed or intended for. The Border Patrol was not created to apprehend individuals within the interior of the country. They were as the name implies - BORDER PATROL. Customs officers were to enforce our laws at authorized ports of entry be they land, sea, or air.ICE is the component that was designed to enforce interior immigration law. In enforcing said laws, it was accepted practice to employ targeted investigations and removals. It was not accepted practice to sweep our streets in tactical gear looking like a SEAL team, with their identities concealed. Pulling over cars and stopping individuals walking down the street indiscriminately. It has the aura of a national police force run by an authoritarian. Prior administrations did not want to send that type of signal. As they didn't want the public to view them as an occupying force, in not only enforcing immigration law, but laws in general.But I suppose in your mind, those are concerns only "woke people" care about. The only thing I can say is, based upon the election results, this administration woefully miscalculated the sentiment of the people in dealing with a number of issues. Immigration being one of them.

What if by some miracle ICE were eliminated? We did just fine without it before. I'm no expert so I'll be easy pickings but how many have actually have been sent back to Mexico and how many are captured but still here?
