Canada is a constitutional monarchy... the USA is a federal presidential republic. You can spin it anyway you want, but the fact remains: Canada has a King and the USA does not.
And you're helping prove a point by focusing on the semantics instead of the actual issues.
Dude, what point did I prove exactly? That Canada has a king? That's not semantics, that's civics. And dismissing a fact because you don't like it doesn't make you right. It just makes you stubborn.

#msg2210493Nobody considers him a wanna be king, more of an authoritarian
Oh absolutely. He clearly, clearly, desires to be an authoritarian. And he envies strong men like Putin that have that power. He has done everything he can to weaken the other two branches of government in pursuit of that goal.

#msg2210463The Left isn't protesting a king but their fellow Americans. They aren't standing up for democracy - they are protesting against it. They seem to have forgotten that Donald Trump was democratically elected with a popular majority. The 'No Kings' rallies are mostly a protest against a man who sought power three times through democratic elections and enacted his major agenda item by majority vote of democratically elected members of Congress. Some King. It's difficult to think of a more effective way to illustrate the moral and intellectual emptiness of the American left than to have them march around demanding an end to an institution our founding fathers abolished 250 years ago.

#msg2210616Terms such as referring to our president as "47" in lieu of his actual name, or "the orange man," or "the ****** in office," or the "I hope he goes to prison!," or "other countries see the American people as a laughing stock," or that it's our "fault that we're stuck with this idiot," and even "TDS."
First of all, 47 enjoys referring to HIMSELF as 47. Secondly, derogatory references to a president is nothing new in American history. I would argue Obama was called much, much, worse. Third, this is the first president that came into office as a convicted felon. So, he's unique in that instance.

In regard to a perceive lack of so-called respect toward him, it could merely reflect the fact that he has exhibited very little respect to others. Everything from calling reporters stupid and piggy. To referring to his political challengers with elementary school nicknames. At the end of the day, with all things considered, 47 brings much of the heat upon himself. He's not a good leader. He doesn't inspire most people. There's nothing about him that many parents would want their child to emulate. There's no wise sayings of his that will one day be etched on an important building either here, or around the world. When he leaves office. He'll just be gone.
#msg2210612That's not avoiding an issue. That's sharing an anecdote.
#msg2210617correct in that you refuse to even contemplate considering any view that opposes your own without firing back before the paint's even dry.

#msg2210626sandman : Yes. That is avoiding the issue as it doesn't actually bring anything to the discussion 🤣 As an aside, it's fine but you've still not brought anything. brightlights : Lol. Maybe read the actual argument brought to the table. I bring support and and other viewpoint. But here's the issue, when I rebutt: most cannot back themselves up. At all. That's all anyone has to do. You shouldn't run away when confronted with facts to the contrary.
