@Catmae : statistics. Let's look at the numbers. There are about 3.5 million active commercial drivers in the United States. Approximately 150,000 may be illegal. When you run the numbers, there are more deaths per driver in the 'legal' than "illegal" category. Any death is too much, don't get me wrong on that.But the numbers show that the greater impact would be on driver education, not enforcement on where they're from.If we truly want safer roads, education is the key. And better education and licensing helps both ways.What makes your home more structurally sound? Patching the cracks on the wall over a few years, or actually going and fixing the foundation so that those cracks don't happen?

They're just trying to enrage people that are already angry about illegal immigration.And their argument makes zero logical sense! Bottomline…..if you can't speak English, can't read signs, don't know what the signs mean you shouldn't be driving a big rig on the highway. It may hurt your feelings but if you are here illegally you shouldn't be. That simple, you shouldn't be. Missed that part of the research.You still must be able to identify the road signs and their meaning to get the CDL. It tells us the pass rate is lower for non native English speakers, but those who do pass were able to identify the meaning of the signs.Should Americans be banned from driving in countries that don't speak English?

@redneckroy : Did you not see this accident on TV? It was all over the news. The driver was trying to do a u-turn on a major highway. You can see the van in the shot before it hit the bed.

There are lots of truckers complaining that the immigrants are erasing the shortage. When there's a driver shortage, the rates for haulage is much higher.
