With autofill on everything they use of course they can't write.

So sad 😭 these seniors are almost adults and the school system has been advancing them to the next grade each year. How will these unprepared people even participate in their future, when realistically their level of learning is nonexistent

HISD is a disaster ☹️

It's in part because kids have so many readily available ways other than reading for entertaining themselves these days. When I was growing my parents restricted us from watching TV - besides playing outdoors I found myself going to our public library and checking out books to read like the series about the boys who were amature sleths (Hardy Boys?). I never was much good myself at writing, but I did well enough to get thru college with C's for the couple of literature/writing classes I had to pass.

Why are people afraid to even post on this! These kids won't be helped if people are afraid to broach the subject.

@Luckysis : Absolutely. A lot of it is laziness. If the parents are too lazy to help their child and make sure they do their homework, that's more work for the teacher. Some teachers are just too lazy to put forth more effort with these students. The students are just too lazy, period.
