Every person who has expertise in this (and nonpolitical) with years of experience on Iran says that these deals will end worse for us and better for Iran. But, yea....that's what you get when you put a TV personality in charge and send real estate people to "negotiate".
But they also say that it must be done even if we end up worse because staying the course now is not sustainable.
Trump will, of course, create his own narrative in his delusional state. And his base will fall in line in their cult state. Reality is just not a place they are comfortable living in.

@ParksideRes : Since the agreement has not been made public yet I guess you are listening to your media talking heads. I will wait to see what the outcome is after it is made public. I do know that it won't be just like Obama's deal where they were still able to have a nuclear bomb in 10 to 15 years. I think Trump is going for a little bit more long term….like never.

@Atascocita888 : And now we just keep making stuff up.

There were sunsets for certain things, yes.

However the enrichment levels and IAEA inspections were Indefinite. As was their prohibition to seek a warhead.

Another good try.

@ParksideRes : Listening to Vance right now on Fox News. He said the deal to be signed Friday. Said there will be very little money if any given to Iran. Said the number one thing NO NUCLEAR WEAPON for Iran. Not sure what you are talking about, but then I am not sure you do either.

@ParksideRes : Oh, that is rich coming from you. " Duration of Restrictions Under the JCPOA
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal, was finalized in July 2015 and implemented in January 2016.
Key Points
Main Restrictions Period: The JCPOA was designed to extend Iran's "breakout time" to produce enough weapons-grade uranium for a nuclear bomb to about one year.
Duration of the Deal: The main restrictions of the JCPOA were set to last for approximately 10 years. This means that during this period, Iran was subject to strict limitations on its nuclear program." Go fight with the facts.

@Atascocita888 : provide your source.

Mine comes from the actual deal itself. All of those restrictions were to be renegotiated after the 10 years, not fall away.

Weapons grade uranium enrichment and not having a nuclear program for weapons was an indefinite timeframe under that agreement. They signed away their rights to a weapon and weapons grade in return for sanctions relief.

Just because a few other restrictions sunseted, does not mean that they were ever going to be able to create a weapon under the agreement.

Even if he didn't like the terms, the proper way is to go to the negotiating table to extend those agreements. Not throw a hissy fit and threaten them. He wanted a war, and he got one by his own choosing.

will you read the article? #msg2187092

@Atascocita888 : Oh I read it. Not sure you read until the very end yourself.

"making a deal is still preferable to potentially messy military action.

If so, the JCPOA-the decade-old political lightning rod-will have exacted its revenge."

Let's unpack this last part. It's saying that military action is stupid compared to tearing up what he tore up. This point in time, we would still have 5 to 6 years to negotiate an extension. He never even tried to negotiate extensions or modifications, he literally just tore it up.

It literally says the previous agreement is completely preferable to military action.

You literally just gave me an opinion source AGAINST what is being done right now.

@Atascocita888 : And all of those have renegotiation needs to keep sanctions off. We had until 2031! to talk, but noooooooo.

And there were still provisions to indefinitely keep out of weapons research. They haven't had a program since 2003 and there's been absolutely zero intelligence that they were pursuing one anytime recently.

Enrichment does not = weapon.

@ParksideRes : Of course it is. Wow, what a smart things to say. Why do you think Trump keeps saying over and over and over….we almost have a deal. He wants a deal not a war. He went in and destroyed a bunch of stuff to make them make a deal. Why did he want a new deal? Did you not see how many missiles they fired and how far they could go? Thought they didn't suppose to have that many and thought they told us they could fire that far. If we don't get a better deal then come on here and gripe. You will gripe even if we get a better deal. I have no idea why you haven't run for some government political position. You could solve so much for the people.

@Atascocita888 : And why were those missiles fired?

Also, why did we completely abandon Geneva? Iran was literally sitting at a table with concessions on their nuclear program and we walked away and just bombed them anyways. No one likes to talk about that because it's too inconvenient.
