@rocket1 : I am not saying people in the Republican wing are better, but people usually associated with the Talerico party seem to make things worse, especially economically. Look at California and New York for examples.

Everyone who is deciding to run with the "Talarico thinks there are multiple genders; har, har, har". I'm already over it.Let's take an educated stroll through medical sciences. Yes, there are MEDICALLY diagnosed intersex chromosomal variations that babies are BORN with. They differ from XY and XX. Go do your research.

In College, my Sciences Prof, brought in a speaker who had an intersex chromosomal variation and their siblings were also born the same way. They spoke very openly about their diagnosis, treatments, and how it impacted life. The entire class sat there in shock and awe. It was very interesting and without having experienced that first-hand, I might not believe it was otherwise possible; but it is a thing and there are different variants.That person who owned the little restaurant on the other corner from Time Out. They were born with an intersex chromosomal variant.

You're right. But expect the Paxton campaign to follow 47s example. A bunch of name-calling, scare tactics, and bigotry thrown in for good measure.In the meanwhile, people with good sense will be far more concerned with economic issues, as opposed to who has what in between their legs.

@rocket1 : I think there are a lot of republicans who don't like Paxton. Enough to the point of voting in a democrat who doesn't sling a lot of crap. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't foresee Talerico stooping to the name-calling type of campaign. I believe it would serve him well to run a clean campaign.

@Catmae : That is absolutely not it. The sanctity of Texas is currently at the hands of The People. Abbott inviting all of these techies to build data centers down here to absorb our beautiful water resources is out of line. Have you been paying attention to what is happening with the Guadelupe River and other recreational lakes and rivers? Then there's Paxton and his financial misdeeds while holding political office.

@rocket1 : Not sure where you are going with this statement. The fact is, whether you like it or not, that this strategy works. And since the objective is to win the seat, wouldn't you expect candidates to do what it takes to win? Would you expect them not to do things (or not do things) that help them win? It is easy to bash candidates for what they do or say, but isn't the real problem the people? And how they respond to campaign strategies? Isn't the fact that a narcissistic, arrogant boar was elected POTUS or a candidate that many think is a crook and a cheat won a runoff handily more of a statement about the voters than the candidate? Candidates are just giving the people what they want and respond to.

If you read my comments for what it is, it's obvious I acknowledge it works - for Republicans. Which is why I said, Talarico needs to stick to the issues to increase his chances of winnings. Because he can't or perhaps shouldn't attempt to use the same rhetoric.
