I do Ace hardware on Timber Forest and Atascocita Rd. Refills only , i had started with some new tanks from an exchange, and I got their little punch card where every 11th refill is free

Cynch refill service. Use their promotional codes. Put your tank outside and they replace with a full one. Avoid the hassle of carrying the tank and waiting on store personnel. Price is very competitive.

I have done exchange and refills in my opinion its six of one half dozen of the other. The only problem I have had is when I when to get refills and they look at the date on the tank and it was expired so I went to the exchange at Lowes.

I've never used a "service" so I can't answer that....But I can tell you I usually use the "automatic" Propane vending machine outside stores like Walmart....Slide your credit card, select "exchange", it opens one of the unit's "doors" for you to put your empty tank in...Once you put it in and close the door it rotates the tanks inside and opens the door again where you remove the full tank and close the door to finish the transaction....Price is currently about $20 per exchange....I have 2 tanks....The outdoor stove tank usually lasts me about 6 months....The outdoor grill tank usually last me about 9 months....As you can tell, I cook a lot more on the stove....My house is all electric so I love to go out on the back patio and cook on gas("real cooking" IMO)....

@Itsme : That's what switched. I had three tanks that I purchased new over the years. One expired and I paid for the recert. When the others came due, They turned into exchanges. I still "own" three just not the same ones….

Tractor Supply usually has good prices. I don't think Atascocita has one. Does Humble or Porter have one?
