I just got a letter addressed to my late husband. The reason it's so strange is that he died 21 years ago and he never lived in Texas. I moved here after he passed. How do advertisers connect deceased people to an address at which they never resided?

We get mail addressed to my late MIL at our Atascocita address, and she never lived in Atascocita. Her last address before she passed away (>10 years ago) was in Kingwood.

CarolS :
Sorry about the loss of your husband.
That's just totally crazy.
But my DD gets mail in TX and she has never lived here.
In fact, just yesterday, someone claiming to be from ERCOT called here asking for my DD by first name.

My mom, who lives 5 hours away, but still in TX, got a random letter addressed to me, (but with my maiden name) last year. She asked me if I wanted her to toss, so I told her to open out of curiosity. She was all "Hmm. You sure??" and I told her yes, but to make sure all blinds were closed tightly and any recording devices were off. Then I yelled, "GO!" and hung up on her.

Still have no idea what was in it. 🤭

The personal info and links available on the Internet is crazy scary. When my brother died, the doctor at the hospital tried to call my wife, there even though we hadn't been in contact for 10 years, the link was on the web.

We were never very close and he lived in different state and was mostly homeless when he died, he passed away on the street with no contact with anyone, just an id in his pocket

Mail arriving here for my father, who died in 2009, finally slowed down and now only arrives in the Christmas season from charities wanting his donation. He never lived in Louisiana and never lived with my husband and me in the 62 years we were married. But those letters do arrive in my Louisiana mailbox in November and December, often including some little thing to try to make him feel he should give something back to them in return. Those that included postage paid return envelopes got the news that he was deceased. Those that required adding postage on the return envelope -- there is always a return envelope -- are ignored and after all these years are now all that arrive for him in my mailbox.

redneckroy :
A bail bondsman called my parents to try to get them to bond an ex out. 😳 I hadn't even spoken to him in years.

I have a friend who's a bondsman and I asked her about it because there's no way he told them to call them. He's crazy but not that crazy.😂 She said they have access to all that same info, but she rarely does it because you never know the relationship that the person has with those people. They could even be a victim of the crime.
