#msg2211813cheryltom : Basically, there was a fundamental hack of PHP, a programming language that powers something like 65% of all websites, that would give hackers full admin access to websites. It was apparently discovered by AI, and as soon as it was leaked, millions of admins rushed around to find patches as quickly as possible. Some big players apparently got hacked as a result.

I use a password manager...it's safer overall than trying to memorize your passwords. The manager will create passwords for me that are long and complicated, so they can't be easily hacked, ex: "jtktkvcc382!@3ttan@1"...the data is highly encrypted, so even if the password manager is hacked, you can't access my passwords...but keystroke loggers or something similar could theoretically get access, which would be bad.
