So we don't forget…

All of that took attention away from the victim, Keith said.

"Why don't we talk about Colleen's potential future, about her life, you know, do a deep dive on her family, talk about what she was trying to do?" he asked during an interview with Fox News Digital Thursday.

Pike and Slemmer met in a vocational school for youths from difficult backgrounds, the Job Corps Center, he explained. And while Pike exhibited signs of a career criminal, Slemmer was a teen who kept out of trouble and was focused on improving her circumstances, he said.

"She was a bright young woman," he said. "She had interest in computers. She was applying herself there. She was clearly an innocent party in this, she was not involved in any of the violence that went on at Job Corps."

Slemmer was shy and focused on her studies, he said.

"She was just a child that was trying to, that had been through a troubled early life and was trying to get her life on track," the chief said. "Her mom was, was clearly a big supporter of her, but there were some limitations there."

Slemmer's mother, May Martinez, did not respond to Fox News Digital's attempts to reach her Thursday.

Pike and two others - her boyfriend Tadaryl Shipp and a friend named Shadolla Peterson - lured Slemmer to a park to beat, slash and torture her for up to an hour.

"Pike was the catalyst," Keith said. "She was the one that was planning out all the events, the luring, all that sort of thing."

Keith said Pike showed "no remorse" in the interrogation room after an attack that a psychiatrist later said involved "satanic elements" at trial.

She even kept a piece of Slemmer's fractured skull as a trophy, showing it off to other classmates before her arrest. Shipp, who stopped Slemmer from running away and held her down, later carved pentagrams into her chest and face.

"She represents pure evil," he said of Pike.

#msg2207031Tennessee inmate still alive after being administered two lethal injections, her lawyer says www.nbcnews.com/news /us-news/ahead-rare- execution-lone-woman -tennessee-deat

West-Tex : She was given seven injections and still alive. You just can't kill Satan. But they said this doctor has botched the last couple of executions. They need to fire him and get a new doctor.

How could this be botched? Over my lifetime I've had numerous dogs put to sleep at the vet's office. Never a problem. So, I say "call the local veterinarian" and let them do the job.

This is some bullschnit! She has already served 31 years in prison, now this.

I've seen a WHOLE lot of others with WAY more heinous crimes and get way lesser sentences than she did (most of whom were well into adulthood).

I'm assuming the botched execution was a result of IV Infiltration. I experienced that once and it hurt like a beeotch for days. I'd post a pic, but it's pretty gruesome. It looks like a small orange on my wrist underneath the skin. 🥺

Barbaric, 💯! Will be interesting to see how these monsters trip all over themselves on this one.

CarolS : The problem is, pharmacy companies refuse to provide the drugs, so they tend to be from sketchy sources. Also, when putting a dog to sleep, they first give two other drugs to anesthetize the dog, then make the dog unconscious, and then the final phenobarbital....in state executions, they just go straight to phenobarbital. Also, normal doctors and nurses are prohibited by the American Medical Association from giving the injection.

This sounds like a situation where migrant visa workers could function as executioners. Licensed doctors who aren't members of the American Medical Association. And pharmaceutical manufacturers from another country could supply the chemicals, particularly countries which have their own capital punishment such as China.

brightlights : This was my guess earlier in the thread. I've had it happen too. Drugs go into tissue, instead of the vein/blood. Probably a blown vein .. that's what caused mine. She told them it hurt. They should have removed and changed sites. Simple.
