For Those of You Who Own Pools
Would you miss it if you moved and didn't have one? I miss our in ground pool from our Baton Rouge house sometimes. But it is nice to not have to worry about our grandbabies falling in. I would miss it A LOT if we didn't have a pool in the neighborhood. I enjoy swimming so it is nice to still have easy access to a pool.

Yes I would miss it and so would my lab Emoticon I enjoy floating and relaxing in the evenings. My pup jumps in to bring me his ball to throw. So maybe not so relaxing 😂 but still enjoyable.

Our last house had one, current does not. I feel like I spent more time cleaning it than relaxing in it... an 2 months out of the year it was too hot to be comfortable. I don't miss it much.

Yes! This is the first home I've lived in with a pool. It also has a spa on the side which we use year round as it can be heated in 15 minutes! Warmth for my arthritis and aqua-therapy exercise to loosen up old joints. Love it. And yes, I'd miss it if I lived anywhere without one.

@RajunCajun : I have a pool and I don't like it. No one swims in it anymore. Girls would rather go to the neighborhood pool. I don't know how to swim so I don't go around it for fear . I'll fall in. So I just pay for it to be cleaned every month and wish I didn't have one.

@Maxsmom :
We put our pool in when younger dd was 10 yro. Our older dd liked having a pool. The younger one did not. She really wasn't about swimming. Her friends would come over and bring their swimsuit with them even if she hadn't invited them to swim. She then felt obligated to swim even though had no interest. She had several birthday parties that were swim parties. She enjoyed those. Many fond memories were formed at those times. The nice thing about my using the club's pool is that I've met several neighbors. I am becoming friends with several of them. I wouldn't have those friends if we didn't use the golf club's pool that's in the hood. And we don't have to clean it.

@RajunCajun :

Mine is a temporary above ground "cool pool"....I don't have the issues most others above have....And if I really got in the mood to "dive" in a large pool for a day or so, I can just rent a hotel/motel room locally for that day that had a swimming pool as an "amenity" , much cheaper than the upkeep of an "in-ground" pool that will only be used a handful of times during the season....
