Yep ran all those traps, TDLR doesn't have the power to compel the station to compensate for loss. Corporate doesn't take ownership of it because they get their gas from a distributor, distributor doesn't own it because the station is responsible for maintaining their equipment. The station doesn't own it because they suck. Screw them, I'll never buy gas from there again or give them a nickel of my money. I ate it and shame on them. But I guarantee I will cost them more than 1500 in reputation damage

At the end of the day, that Valero is gone and it looks like the property owner lost a significant amount of money. So those two will likely battle it out in court or cut losses.

I always advise my employees to avoid older gas stations and convenience stores, especially when refueling. I suggest sticking to newer locations, particularly those built after Hurricane Harvey, as older stations are more prone to issues like fuel contamination. Furthermore, low-traffic stations often have lower fuel volumes in their underground reservoirs, which can lead to increased condensation and moisture buildup in the tanks. Usually change fuel filters annually on my trucks. Then there is the issue of 360 degree line of sight for security.

@GeneratorMarcus : That's a good rule of thumb.
