A decade or so ago would have been the time for those living here to get involved in urban density planning. Once developers start buying up land, it's almost too late and the encroachment is inevitable. It's been no secret as to the nature of all of those developments along WLHP, especially as open land lay available along the lake, as well as every open lot being seized up for redundant strip malls/convenience stores.
I feel very fortunate to have ended up in Kings River where, at least, there is some semblance of neighborhoods and a decent amount of wooded areas and nature remaining. This is in stark contrast to the flattening that is currently going on in the newer developments.
